Who we are

Theology the way it should be —
honest, open, and unhurried

Mugs & Manna is a publication built around a simple conviction: the best theological conversations happen when everyone stops performing and starts being real. Pull up a chair. We've been waiting for you.

What we're about

We believe Scripture deserves to be read honestly — with both intellectual rigor and emotional vulnerability. That means following the text where it leads, even when it challenges comfortable assumptions. We're not here to defend a denomination or a tradition. We're here to represent Christ, and that requires the kind of humility that's willing to say I don't know and I was wrong.

Academically honest doesn't mean cold or detached. It means we take the text seriously, we take scholarship seriously, and we take you seriously — your doubts, your questions, your hard-won convictions. We're not looking for papers. We're looking for people who have actually wrestled with something and want to share it.

Academically Honest

We engage Scripture and theology with intellectual integrity — no proof-texting, no motivated reasoning. The hard passages get the same attention as the comforting ones.

Christ-Centered, Not Denomination-Bound

We represent Jesus, not a tradition. Writers from across the Christian spectrum are welcome here as long as they're genuinely seeking — not recruiting.

Open to Everyone

No credentials required. If you've been thinking about something deeply and want to share it, this is the place. Mugs & Manna doesn't ask for your CV.

Built for Discussion

Every article is an invitation, not a verdict. We publish writing that opens a conversation — and we want you to push back, dig deeper, and disagree well.
